Plans change for Plan Change 73

STUFF.CO.NZ: Work on Paraparaumu‘s $450 million redevelopment can begin almost immediately, as the interim approval of Plan Change 73 had been granted by the Environment Court this week.

An industrial park is planned, along with major changes in the airport‘s layout, as the main runway is to be extended, while the east-west runway is to be shifted and shortened.

According to Paraparaumu Airport owner Noel Robinson, work is planned to start this month, so that new flights, like Air New Zealand flights to Auckland and Christchurch, can start within a year:

The main priority is now to establish a terminal and reseal the main runway, including some levelling work, as a precursor to Air New Zealand commencing regular flights to and from Paraparaumu.
